How each cap is made

Made to be worn every day. Made to mean something.

Each cap has to earn its place as an object first: well made, comfortable, and plain enough for work, the ball field, and church in the same week. The meaning is layered in three places.

The cap itself

Honest materials.

  • Cloth Washed cotton twill in navy and evergreen.
  • Shape Structured six-panel, mid-profile crown with a curved brim.
  • Closure Self-fabric strap with an antique brass slide. One adjustable size. Hat sizes 6⅞ to 7⅝
  • Thread Cream and oat embroidery thread, with foam matched to the thread color.

From drawing to a cap in hand.

  1. 01 Drawn for foam The front lettering is redrawn with sturdier strokes so it holds raised embroidery.
  2. 02 Digitized An embroiderer turns the drawing into stitch paths for the machine.
  3. 03 Strike-off A test stitch on real cloth, checked for crisp edges and full coverage.
  4. 04 Sampled Finished caps are made and adjusted before any are sold.
  5. 05 Worn Samples are worn for weeks to test comfort, shape, and wash.
